About Us

Practical Dermatology is the monthly publication that provides coverage of medical care, cosmetic advancements, and practice management for clinicians in the field. With straight-forward, how-to advice from experts in various fields, we strive to enhance quality of care and improve the daily operation of dermatology practices.

Article Submissions
Practical Dermatology will consider for publication submissions that match our editorial focus and style. Specifically, case reports, commentaries, surgical and clinical pearls, and review articles are welcome. Additionally, articles by or of interest to Dermatology residents are encouraged. When submitting manuscripts, please include full names of authors, affiliations, a disclosure statement, and author photo(s), if desired. Manuscripts for consideration, as well as associated figures, may be submitted via e-mail to pwinnington@bmctoday.com.

Peer Review
Clinician- or researcher-authored feature articles with a clinical, medical, or surgical focus and not written by internal editorial staff are subject to blinded peer review. At least two peer reviewers review each manuscript, assessing the relevance of subject matter and discussion; concordance of thesis, supporting information, and conclusion; quality of references and source materials; and objectivity and transparency. Practical Dermatology’s editorial advisory board members make final determination on the suitability of an article for publication.
